Lifting Gear

  • How tight should the knee/elbow sleeve be?

The elbow or knee sleeve should fit tightly but should not be painful to wear or limit your exercise movement. The sleeves offer approximately the same compression as a loose-fitting wrap.

  • What length of wrap should I go with?

The wrist wraps are available in 12, 18, 24 and 36-inch lengths. If you are an Olympic lifter, you will require support but also some flexibility therefore we suggest the Multipurpose or The Base wrist wraps 12 or 18-inch depending upon how much support you require. For powerlifters it is really a matter of your preference, in terms of compression. For a beginner lifter we suggest 12 or 18-inch, if you are lifting heavy / or seriously heavy weights, 24-inch and above.

The knee wraps come in 2 m length only which are within the guidelines of the IPF.

  • Which style of wrist or knee wrap should I go with?

Please go to the product description of each of the wraps offered to get more details. In brief: The Multipurpose wrap is ideal for the everyday gym goer, new or younger strength athletes. The Base wrap is suited for lifters who prefer a little more flexibility, generally favored by Olympic weightlifters and CrossFit athletes. The CHAMP wraps are geared for seasoned weightlifters and powerlifters who require greater support as they are lifting heavy weights. The Pro wraps are ideally suited for powerlifters moving very heavy weights, ideal if your looking to break world records.

  • Should I follow the size chart or order a smaller or larger size?

The size charts have been developed by taking into consideration performance, comfortability and product longevity. Our opinion is to stick with the size chart.

Please note the size chart for knee sleeves offers our suggestions for competitions, please realize these sizes are for maximum effort lifts and should not be worn throughout a work out.

  • How do I know if the elbow and knee sleeves are too tight?

The elbow and knee sleeves must be form fitting, removing any joint pain, and provide good compression without hindering the motion of the lift being practiced. Wearing the sleeve should not cause any additional pain. The sleeves can be taken off after the lift, however they have been designed to be comfortable enough that the lifter can wear them through the workout.

Please note the size chart for knee sleeves offers our suggestions for competitions, please realize these sizes are for maximum effort lifts and should not be worn throughout a work out.

  • Which style of powerlifting belt is better?

Both styles, buckle and lever, provide the support required for the power lifts, extra tightness can be achieved with the lever style belt. It is basically a matter of preference regarding the support required and easy on, easy off. Both belts are accepted in the powerlifting world.

  • Should I go with a 10 or 13 mm powerlifting belt?

This is a matter of preference. Our suggestion is, if you like a belt that has a broken in feel, the 10 mm belt would be your choice. However, if you prefer your belt to be more aggressive then the 13mm belt is ideal. Please note that our belts are not as stiff as the belts from yester year. Both belts are guaranteed to perform as expected.

  • Can I wash the sleeves or wraps?

Yes. You can hand wash the products gently using cold water and a mild detergent, and then air dry. DO NOT PUT THE ITEMS IN THE WASHING MACHINE OR DRYER.
